We have been using Fuzor at Hinkley Point C Marine Works for over three years and it has been a game changer. It has increased our productivity and efficiency drastically, especially when producing high detailed sequence animations for method statements, where other planning software fails to match Fuzor’s ability to animate plant movements at such a high level of detail. It also produces high quality renders in next to no time, it’s at least 10 times faster. This has helped facilitate a quick response from the BIM team after construction reviews.

Producing detailed construction sequence animations has benefited our workforce through helping them to better understand the works ahead and to help promote a questioning environment and highlight potential challenges before going to site. Fuzor has been great in communicating the complexity of the tasks as well as providing the ability to incorporate safety and logistics information into the construction sequence with ease. This has enabled the optioneering of scenarios and helped us to find the optimal solution.

The ability to import point cloud data into the 4D model has allowed us to run what we call dynamic clash detection. We have successfully managed to simulate pieces of formwork being lifted into a restricted space, delivering a clash free installation and reducing potential delays and associated costs.

Working in confined spaces, such as a 6m diameter tunnel, has many challenges. The Fuzor team helped us to model and articulate specific pieces of plant that were required for the works. We were able to use Fuzor to carry out crucial space proofing exercises of activities inside the tunnel during Sprayed Concrete Lining operations, giving certainty to construction managers when choosing and purchasing plant.

Being able to easily and interactively view our models in VR and AR has also allowed us to present our animations to the project team as a fully inversive experience, which has a powerful impact within the tunnelling environments.

Our Fuzor models have also played a key part when submitting new tenders to the client, showcasing the challenging nature of the works and supporting the pricing of our contracts. This is very difficult to demonstrate without a high-level detailed simulation.

Another key feature that we have utilised, is the event triggers. We have used them in our segment factory animation to demonstrate the production of a segment and the different activities and stations involved. We were able to deliver a standalone executable file that was used to test the personnel in inductions and safety training.

The Kallotech team are very supportive and responsive, and they have been keen to incorporate new ideas that we have suggested in their software updates.
